The way I usually find myself in Journeys is by clicking into a table report to understand more about what's making up those numbers.

For example, if I'm looking at a table that shows # of opportunities attributed, when I click into the Opportunity number, I want to see details about those records such as: $ amount, status, created date, close date, and owner.

The Journey timeline in this context doesn't give me much to learn from.
